- 1 ½ cups chocolate cookie crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 cups cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup sour cream
- zest of 1 orange
- ½ cup fresh orange juice
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C).
- In a bowl, combine chocolate cookie crumbs and melted butter; press into the bottom of a springform pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, beat cream cheese and sugar until smooth.
- Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Stir in vanilla extract, sour cream, orange zest, and orange juice until well combined.
- Fold in chocolate chips gently.
- Pour the cheesecake mixture over the crust in the springform pan.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes or until the center is set but slightly jiggly.
- Turn off the oven and let the cheesecake cool in the oven with the door ajar for 1 hour.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
- For a stronger orange flavor, add more zest.
- Serve with whipped cream and orange slices for garnish.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
